THE BRIEF

International Trade Missions to Barbados.

Orbit Communications was appointed to deliver the communications programme supporting a series of Scottish trade missions to Barbados, helping promote the island as an attractive destination for inward investment while encouraging Scottish businesses to explore new export opportunities.

Working alongside Invest Barbados, the Renfrewshire Business Network, the British High Commission and other partners, the campaign sought to raise awareness of the trade missions, attract high-quality delegates from across Scotland, and showcase the commercial opportunities available across the Caribbean.

Our Approach

  • Developed and delivered a strategic media relations campaign to promote the trade missions across Scotland.
  • Produced compelling press releases, feature content and leadership commentary highlighting Barbados as a gateway to Caribbean and Latin American markets.
  • Promoted investment opportunities across sectors including renewable energy, education, tourism, manufacturing, financial services and technology.
  • Generated positive publicity around Scottish companies already operating successfully in Barbados, encouraging further participation.
  • Publicised the outcomes of the missions, highlighting commercial agreements, partnerships and investment successes to reinforce credibility and attract future delegates.

Outputs & Outcomes

  • Generated extensive business, trade and regional media coverage, building awareness of the missions and helping attract high-quality delegates from across Scotland.
