Supporting planning approval for one of Glasgow’s largest city centre regeneration projects.
Orbit Communications was appointed by the Galliard Apsley Partnership to deliver stakeholder engagement and public consultation for proposals to regenerate the former College Street Goods Yard site in Glasgow.
The proposals sought planning permission for a landmark mixed-use development comprising 713 build-to-rent homes, 999 purpose-built student bedrooms, commercial space and high-quality public realm, transforming a long-derelict 7.5-acre brownfield site into a vibrant new city neighbourhood known as College Gardens.
Our Approach
- Developed and delivered a comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communications strategy, including key messaging and Q&As.
- Engaged proactively with councillors, MSPs, community councils and other key stakeholders throughout the planning process.
- Prepared clear, accessible materials, helping communicate the benefits of the proposals and the regeneration of this prominent brownfield site.
- Analysed feedback received and worked closely with the wider consultant team to inform the planning application.
Outputs & Outcomes
- Successfully engaged local communities, elected representatives and key stakeholders throughout the consultation process.
- Demonstrated a robust programme of community engagement supporting the planning application.
