THE BRIEF
Balance Power appointed Orbit Communications to deliver a strategic communications and stakeholder engagement programme to secure planning consent for a proposed 29.9MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Coylton, East Ayrshire.
As with many energy infrastructure projects, the proposal required clear, accessible communications to build understanding of the project’s role in supporting the electricity grid, address local concerns, and demonstrate tangible community benefits. The development secured planning permission in 2025 following an extensive consultation programme.
