THE BRIEF
Supporting a landmark campus announcement and community consultation.
Orbit Communications was appointed to develop and deliver a strategic communications and stakeholder engagement programme to support St George’s School’s move to a single campus and the sale of its historic Lansdowne House site to Vivere, an extra care developer-operator.
Our Approach
- Developed the overall communications strategy, key messaging framework and comprehensive Q&A that underpinned every stage of the project.
- Planned and delivered a phased, multi-audience communications programme, producing tailored materials across print, digital, media and stakeholder channels.
- Worked closely with the Headteacher, senior leadership team, Savills and Vivere, to ensure communications aligned with both the commercial site sale and subsequent redevelopment proposals.
- Designed and produced a flagship print and digital project brochure for key audiences, clearly explaining the vision, rationale, site history, future plans and project timeline.
- Provided ongoing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement support throughout both phases of the project, including representation at the developer’s Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) event to ensure clear and consistent messaging
Outputs & Outcomes
We delivered a clear, coordinated communications programme that successfully guided the school through a significant period of change.
Staff, pupils, parents, alumni, neighbours, elected members and the media were kept informed and engaged throughout the campus transition and subsequent redevelopment consultation, helping protect the school’s reputation while supporting its long-term strategic ambitions.
