Koehler Renewable Energy (KRE) is holding a second round of consultation events as part of its proposals for a six-turbine wind farm near Sanquhar.
Rowancraig Wind Farm is a proposed new renewable energy project located approximately 4km west of Sanquhar in Dumfries and Galloway, with designs incorporating six turbines with a maximum tip height of 180m. This differs from the originally proposed designs of eight turbines at the same height.
The two events are scheduled for Wednesday, 30th August, 2-7 pm at the Miners Memorial Centre, Needle St, Kirkconnel, Sanquhar, DG4 6PH and on Thursday, 31 August, 2-7pm Nithsdale Hotel, 1 High St, Sanquhar, DG4 6DJ.
KRE has submitted a planning application notice (PAN) to Dumfries & Galloway Council, formally notifying them of their intention to submit a planning application for the project.
KRE previously held two events on Wednesday, 5th July, in the Nithsdale Hotel, Sanquhar and on Thursday, 6th July, in the Miners Memorial Centre in Kirkconnel. as part of a four-event schedule to maximise community engagement.
Questions raised at the round 1 consultation events and through the website at https://www.rowancraigwindfarm.co.uk/ will be addressed at the upcoming events.
The revised exhibition boards outlining the development will be available to view, along with the opportunity to provide feedback, with the development team available to answer any questions you might have.
For those unable to attend, a copy of the revised exhibition material detailing the proposed development will be uploaded on the website (https://www.rowancraigwindfarm.co.uk/) at 9 am on August 30th, 2023.
Because of its size, the application will be determined by the Planning Committee of Dumfries & Galloway Council, with any appeal considered by the Scottish Government Department of Planning & Environmental Appeals (DPEA).
